Public Boat

Nusa Penida

With her admirable frugalness my mum got us into an interesting segue en route to Nusa Lembongan, we took local transport, it's kind of expected if you are a tourist in Bali that you will want to pay a high price for luxury transport - being dropped off at your resort by a speedboat etc. My mum is totally against this kind of bourgeois holidaying - going so far as to secure places for us on the outrigger boat that supplies fruit to the island. The husband in the family portrait kindly guided us through Nusa Penida, an island where seaweed farming is the main industry. His amazingly cute daughter (who instinctively knew to throw up a peace sign when having her photograph taken) amused us with her antics as we travelled along bumpy roads to our outrigger boat 'connection'.
